Okay it may be a little too much to call PC gaming is dead , or is dying , but the state in which things are now , aren't good , MW2 ruined all , Activision is the new EA now , I don't see why GeorgeB is so enthisiastic about MW2 , such a crap Xbox port to PC.
We need to know , some HINT that ass kicker will finally come , we don't need details , but a LOT of time without any form of info , it is , honestly , getting me too bored and I don't have anything to write about in this forum , i would forget about it all but Im not such a person , I maybe don't see this forums so much anymore , but i still bet on duke anyways , I am afraid too much people will just forget about it , I just need FUEL to keep me going , I can't wait without anything to make me prove it's going to hit a milestone or it's going into some preparations or WHATEVER about , just something , and get that stupid court going , come on with those LONG procedures ... get it along already 3DR is innocent , Take Two filled lawsuit cause it's capitalist pig , end of story , court closed. 3DR back to work, ... what's TAKING so long.
And I know I have no POSSIBLE chance of receiving any response , but at least people understand from this , showing how desperate we are.
Dopefish Returns!?
At least , give some hint about the official dnf fan site, just so I can calm DOWN, my steam is going to overload.
DO YOU EVEN REALIZE HOW MANY PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT DUKE NUKEM: Some my friends , NEVER saw them , heard them , or talked about the games , but WHEN I did for the first time , E.V.E.R.Y.B.O.D.Y knew Duke Nukem , everybody PLAYED duke nukem 3d , everybody said "meh DNF will never come out"
Everybody is a potential buyer , but there is a possibility , they will forget about , people from my generation , know DN3D really much , but most of them are 19 and people are getting life , getting real relationships , universities , much more from ol' gaming , and may just forget about it or have no time to play even if they buy.
I am not saying it may sell low ,it WILL sell great , but the newer generations really don't know DN3D so much that's for sure.(so many times this has been said) And I hope , 3DR is developing it , REGARDLESS of take2 and court, who would SEE in 3DR studio that they are developing , or any OTHER studio helping them , there are so many options I have full trust into miller and george that they have seek those ideas and stuff to save DNF , things like other would never risk for.
DNF is going ON , even if 3 people are developing it , doesn't matter , it's not stopping right there , never , trust me. Always bet on Duke.
But you know what's the best thing , less info , less spoilers, the better the experience :) So I wasn't actually all exploding when it was SO much leaked material , the trailer would be enough , but the whole plot storygraph , come on that's spoilers, didn't want to see it for a reason.

Trouble is, Duke can't save PC gaming - he's now a console man as well. So one could say that if DNF would be as popular as you hope, being made for consoles, it would actually contribute to the problem. Another once proud PC icon castrated into a simpler, more palatable casual passtime for the masses. Thus the PC port would be a shadow of what we would (should) have had in 2001.
Might be better if Duke stays dead so that we can remember him as he was.

PC Gaming is not dying just cause of a blemish known as IW/MW2/Activision.

Why do people think Duke will "save the PC." STEAM as a business is selling games very well.

With me, no matter how crappy a PC port of a console game is, there's nothing...and I mean NOTHING that'll convince me to go to consoles for gaming, I'll always find a way to grab a PC version of a multiplatform game, and I'll actually play that game with a wired X360 controller if it comes down to that, for games like GTA IV, RF:G, SR2, and all those types of games. Outside of that, if it ain't a game that I can't play with a keyboard and mouse, I don't even want to know it. That's how steadfast I am to PC gaming this day in age, 'nuff said.
I mean, I'm not knocking console gaming, I was big on the X360 for a couple of years, but with me dreading another RRoD, I just can't bear the thought of playing a console with such a design flaw to it. Hell, a self-built PC will always be better than an X360 in my eyes, and with today's hardware, I believe that a quad-core CPU, and a high-end GPU will outperform it hands down.

Duke Nukem is a joke. DNF is dead and will probably never come out. If George couldn't get the game done with a full budget and a full staff, there's no way DNF will be completed on a skeleton crew with tight funds. If it does get finished, it'll be bargain-bin quality.
PC gaming will die when people stop buying games. I don't see that happening anytime soon. Maybe we're just going through a slow time where not a lot of good stuff is being produced?

This is funny. How do you think 3dr will make a game for the least profitable platform. They cant. As long as Gb and sm are alive, Duke is dead. No really he will come out on poxy shit box platforms.

I used to be a die-hard PC-only gamer and disdained consoles for years. Mouse and keyboard for the win every time. But the decreasing quality of games over time combined with the ever increasing costs of regular hardware upgrades wore me down and drove me onto the Xbox, and I can no longer justify such ridiculous PC-related expenses for what's really only a marginal improvement in controller playability.
Playing an FPS on the console may not be as efficient as playing it on the PC, but it still hits 90% of the fun factor, as far as I'm concerned, and for just a fraction of the comparable running costs. Not even Duke would be worth springing for that extra 10%.
I never thought I would use a console, but I bought a PS3 a few months ago, and I use it quite a bit.

I bought a 360 a couple of years ago and absolutely despise it. To each his own, I suppose.
But then again, I've found that my overall interest in gaming has started to wane the last year or two anyway. Save for a few titles, these days I'm more apt to load up old games than care about the endless hype parade of over-milked IP sequels that modern gaming has turned into.

I just can't understand why it should be impossible to connect a mouse and keyboard to a console. Almost every console refuser I've heard about have the lack of mouse and keyboard as their biggest or even only issue. It should be the easiest thing in the world to satisfy that group of people and I can't understand the problem or unwillingness to do that to save my own life.
I personally woudn't mind having a console. There are great games for them, but leaving out the PC is not an option and I'm not prepared to pay for both.
As for the death of PC gaming, the biggest threat to that and all other branches is when its costumers don't want to pay for the products. Regardless of wether it's due to bad product, finance crisis or the gamer community stabbing themselves by claiming some "right" to download the games for free.

You guys need to realize consoles is where the money is now and while PC gaming won't be dying soon it's becoming a niche market.

I bought a 360. Played it for a total of two hours over a year, then swapped it for a Wii. Play the Wii every weekend. But for REAL gaming, nothing beats my PC. Better graphics, better controls, faster speed and more customisation for games.
Sure, I might spend a bit on hardware, but with brand new console games costing $100+ AUS, and PC games digitally selling for under half of that, I actually save money. Combine that with the fact that we need a home PC for burning, DLing, photos and music; it's an extra saving.
Console have their demographic, as do PCs. But to say that PC gaming is dying is a joke. If anything, console gaming may be reaching its prime. Consider what is happening with mobile phones; consolidating devices. Having a separate gaming console and PC will not be feasible in the future, especially as PC costs come down, and console become more expensive due to increased hardware requirements.
The days of console vs PC are soon drawing to and end, but in a good way. The systems will be merged (like your camera, phone and MP3 player), and we can all play the same system, but with whatever input device we like.
Then we can herald in the new age of innovation.

I don't think so. It's moot now, obviously, but I'm pretty sure that 3DR wanted the PC DN4E to be the definitive version.

Pfft, dream on. Exclusivity has been doing more and more to take us further away from universalization. If the corporate strategies that exist today had been deployed 50 years ago, NOTHING would be standardized, not even electrical outlets.

Same. Pretty much just stream movies/TV shows from my PC to my HDTV. I don't do a lot of gaming. The only games I am playing nowadays are the kind of quick fix kind of games like UT2004. Which are still fun to play, even though they're a few years old.

The majority of gaming I do is still on the PC. However I mostly play old games although I did get Wolfenstein not long ago which runs well on my POS.

Well, I didn't build a whole new rig around Windows 7/DX11 for nothing...I'm definitely prepared for the best, but may have to expect the worst, if it comes to that.

I think crysis 2 and a new half life are the games you should be looking out to...
Rage too, if they can avoid consolitis...
and with the coming of starcraft 2 and diablo 3 you are in for a treat!
I think 2010 will be a great year for pc gaming...

Heh...guess that should be great. I believe that Wolfenstein was released just in time for Windows 7, even tho I bet it's only a DX10.1 game, but it should have its forwards compatibility. I'll have to install that sooner than later.
