do you have a VIA chipset on your motherboard? If you do, that could be your problem. Well, I know that I'm gonna have problems now: Win2k, VIA chipset mobo, Sound Blaster Live X-gamer 5.1...damnit!

I have 5.1 Player too. If you have updated drivers, ditch them. Use the cd defaults. Other than that I don't know anything, see if that thingy over these topics have anything about it... the Remedy helps thingy...

My motherboard does not have VIA (I checked in the booklet and couldn't find "VIA" anywhere).

And I also have read the Remedy Help letter... no solution for me in it.

I'm pretty sure that mine has VIA chipset; not too hard to check, though...case is still opened from where it screwed up! images/icons/mad.gif

Well you didn't say if you tried cd drivers, or if you used those, getting new drivers from creative. Also, you can try disabling EAX or that sort of stuff...

I still use the old drivers.

I also disabled EAX.

What kinda worked for me was setting my settings to 2 speakers. It's not an good solution but it worked.
