MP finally runs [Archive] - 3D Realms Forums

I had been unable to get past the opening video without locking-up on a P4 1.4 with Geforce3 and now 21.83 drivers. Tried everything at minimum settings. Tech support was no help after several e-mails. Saw a post elsewhere to move Nvidia board to IRQ-11. Changed BIOS setting from 3 to 11 and MP now runs on the highest setting. Maybe this will help someone else.

Obviously, IRQ 3 is the same as COM ports and a lot of other stuff, and GeForce cards aren't very good with sharing IRQs, so some people might experience problems with this... one of MANY things that can happen... good that you found out images/icons/smile.gif

On my 1.33 Ghz Athlon Win2k box, my IRQ9 is sharing a video capture card, Ethernet card, Geforce2 GTS, Promise UDMA100 board, and a USB Host Controller.

I heard I need to reinstall the OS if I wanted to change the IRQ assignments. That's something I don't want to do. I'll just wait until I upgrade to Win2k...
