I am running a relatively fast system and everytime I try to run Max Payne, I get past the opening demo right up to "loading" and then it dumps me right back to the desktop.
I know I am missing something here because this is only a machine and I would like to think I will prevail.
I am running:
1 GHz AMD Athlon Processor
Abit Motherboard
768 MB RAM
40 GB HD (15% full)
nVidia G-Force 2 MX
Sound Blaster Live MP3
Windows 98 2nd Edition
I have installed DirectX 8.0a from both Microsoft and your CD.
I have re formatted my hard drive and did clean install of Win98
I have upgraded my AGP/VIA, video and sound drivers
I have uninstalled and installed "Max Payne 6 times so far
I have adjusted the video setting in both the options menu of the game and the desktop what seems like hundreds of times.
I have received errors
"need to Lower Resolution"
"need to install directX 8 or higher"
"d3derror"
"fullscreen error"
"out of memory"
I have played this game at a friends house and this is why I bought it. He is running it on a pentium 400MHz with 128MB RAM and nVidia TNT.
Can someone please help?
