View Full Version : MP is so buggy!

I can't remember when I've played a buggier game! There are several areas where if something doesn't work, you can't advance. I first encountered a bug when I had to shoot the gas cylinders & they knocked down the door. First time, it didn't knock the door down. I was stranded. Cheat "noclip" didn't work. Had to replay this level 3 times. Then when you are trying to get on the ship, the crate mover machine never moved. It just sat there with the engine running. Unless it picks up the big box, you can go no farther. Luckily by now, Ive learned to save at the start of each new level, this way I can start the level over. It's really a crap-shoot if a level is going to work! This game was released way too soon. There should have been more Beta testing. Should have had a choice of what person view to use. 3rd person view is pretty lame.

u know in the second level where I must get that man downstairs (where the train is) to open me the door so that I could get into the power/electric room. It is scripted so that the door opens and a bad guy shoots this man... well once it missed!!! but when the clip ended my friend was lying on the floor, dead.. bug

Um, those "bugs" only happen if you have God on and collide with the moving object.. ..in normal play that kind of thing never happens.

Um, whatever.. I have never used cheats in Max Payne. Heck I dont even know what u mean with "if u have God on".. this happened under normal play.

And BTW I'm not trying to be negative nor trying to support Patch in his original post. I have my own oppinion and I actually think Max IS the best game I have wasted my time on (and the second game since half-life that I've actually played through). So u can see that I play only games that are really good images/icons/smile.gif

Just that this, dear I say, 'bug' really happened and as Patch had a similar example in his post I thought this would go along well.

Don't always be so sure that what comes into your head is true or something. What I saw was in normal play.

Did you guys ever played Black & White?
That is the buggiest game EVER. I bought when it hitted the shelfs. I couldn't get the game to run. I downloaded an unofficial patch: it worked for a while. Than I couldn't save anymore. Than the beta patch came out. The tottaly crashed my system. Had to do a format disk and stuff. Than the official patch came(5weeks after I bought it). The game worked but I didn't felled like playing the game anymore.

MP has comparing with B&W mini, mini bugs.

God yes kees, i had black and white... that game was a reincarnation of satan. I swear, I played it for a week and couldnt take its buggy abuse anymore. The only good thing about it is being able to toss things about and the creature fights, which tend to suck.

Max payne is awesome though, the story is great. I feel like i'm in a movie/comic book style thing....

Ultima 9 was horrible with bugs. It wasn't playable from the original disk, so they had to mail out new ones. Even with all the patches it was full of bugs.

Without the bugs it would have been the greatest game made though.

Daggerfall was just as bad.

MP, I've yet to have a single problem with. I did need to get a new video card, so I could play with everything in high mode though.
