Hi, can anyone give me a hint as to why my system crashes everytime i quit Max Payne and I LAG in framerates alot in the game. I have the settings set at medium ans they still lag sometimes. My Friend has a 2 year old Ariva TNT 32mb card and he NEVER LAGS although i got a higher score in the 3dmark2001 than he did.
I have this:
900mhz AMD Thunderbird
512megs RAM
Soundblaster Live Value
ATI Radeon 64DDR VIVO card
Windows ME
I have all the updated drivers for everything listed and i still have problems with LAG and quitting. Anyone have any pointers???

2 things: 1. The 64 mb ATI has a lot of problems. Get all the drivers you can. 2. You are running Windows ME. images/icons/smile.gif That aint right. Go back to 98 SE, less bugs. - Good Luck

Now lets face it the only card that has worked properly with MP is the TNT series your freind has a TNT the game runs fine I have a TNT 2 the works fine My friend Has a TNT 2 the game runs fine it seem that this game like tnt cards, i think you shoud do your self a favour and go out and buy a TNT 2 32MB or a TNT 2 64MB that is my mp crash theory that seems to be the MP likes only certain graphic cards. Im not saing that it could be other thing but it seems that 3D cards are the main problem

Theres no need for me to get a new card. I (like i posted earlier) reformated to win98 instaed of winME. Apparently WinME sucks for alot of gamers and drivers. With WinME i had a score of 2100 points in 3DMARK2001, with win98 i had 3400 points. And MP never crashed or slowed since then. I just think WinME sucks hardcore. It didnt even like my soundblaster live value too much either. Thanks for the suggestion though =) aint it amazing how many smart people read and help these forums? =D
