Windows keeps trying to interfere with Max Payne

When I play it, the start button and the bar of mini-icons on the far right of the taskbar periodically flash onto the screen. What is wrong?

Install the patches, afaik they fix that problem.

If you are to lazy to patch you can just alt tab when in the game and then alt tab again. That fixes it.

If you were going to be lazy, doing the patch would be the way to go. That's less work than tabbing all the time.
