The name of this strategy game?

I'm trying to find this strategy game, but I just don't have a clue what it's name is.

It's not Age of Empires, but it's similar, as in you progress through the ages.
You start with a simple tribe and you end up with WW2 technology.

Rise of Nations was really well ahead of its time, and other RTS' still haven't really implemented some of the features I loved about it; at least not to my knowledge.

Like choosing to have an AI work with you (which basically meant you would watch someone play unless you intervene) so you can get a good feeling of what to build and when and what order.

Also, the auto explore button. Man I LOVED that button. I never like exploring the map if fog of war is on and the map isn't revealed, since to me it felt like a waste of attention pointing and clicking one single unit to explore whats out there.

Also, when you play games that have changed age limits (as in what age you start in and what age you stop at) there will be more upgrades until the next age. Kind of hard to explain, but it basically adds more research inbetween each age.

I thought about suggesting that one as well as EE, but I only played one of the demos and i didn't remember if it started in the older eras.
