I really want to buy this game but after reading many posts and etc it seems unclear as to if this game will run on windows XP. So.....what's the deal? Will it run? Or won't it?

Don't get it if you are running XP.
XP is a piece of crap.
The game really is the best I have seen.
I guess I will go back to 98SE.

Don't say it's a piece of crap because you don't know how an OS works. I haven't had any problem what's so ever with Max Payne on XP.

I don't mean to diagree with you but it is a piece of crap.
And as far as not knowing how a OS works,I have been in this business since dos.
If linux would run my games I wouldn't have anything else.
XP is a piece of crap,Big time.

Ray,
Thanks for demonstrating your ignorance. XP is not crap - it may not be perfect but it's certainly a BIG step up for a home OS. As for linux - great for servers - not so good for home OS.
People like you really irritate me - think before you speak.

Ok guys, I have an update....Friday, I downloaded the demo, installed it and the game played great. So, of course, I just had to run to Wal-Mart and buy the game.
I got home, installed the game (I have WinXP Home)
and it runs smooth as silk. No problems at all.
This is one fantastic game. Awesome!

Every problems are not always related to the Operating system images/icons/rolleyes.gif If I were you I would try to seek the lastest drivers for my video card, mobo and bios.
