I'm having problems with (I think) the Transform&lightning in the game.
(My screen is black except for grafitti an such which is lit up normally. When I fire a weapon i can se the textures from etc. walls and stuff in the fireburst's flash)

My grafix are set up to: D3D software T&L, and there are no other settings available. I have directx 8.0. I have a S3 Savage IX card w/8mb(notebook - yes i know...)

As the game otherwise seems to function ok, is there anyone out there who knows how to turn of T&L??

thanks in advance!

You are 50% below minimum requirements, you know.
T&L must be on, in Software, or in HW. You problem is only that your machine got no place to store the graphics.

Software T&L means it is off. If you put it more off, you have no game left to play with. Software means the cpu does the work, you need geometry no?

BTW have you got the latest drivers?

what I don't understand is that all the textures seems to be there 'under cover of the dark' ...

Furthermore - the game seems to run just fine, without lag etc. ,so I'm thinking that the driver for my videocard don't support T&L and that if I could somehow disable T&L (like disabling for instance fog) I would get a playable result.

But what do I know :-)

Thanks for the replies...

You mentioned notebook? Are you trying to play Max Payne on one? If so, how much memory do you have? The graphics card you have most likely doesn't support T&L, plus it's way below the minimum requirement (16MB).

I honestly advise you to upgrade your graphics card if you are playing it on PC. Once you get it running on hardware T&L it's well worth it.
