Hey guys,
I recently bought Max payne and got it installed and updated without any problems... But, when I play the game, it sometimes gives me a errors that says:

Out of memory for vertex creation
Please lower your display settings...

Then the game closes and provides me with a illegal operation dialog box. I have tried running the game on medium detail without any luck. Even at high detail, everything runs smooth so it isn't a problem with my hardware.

I have:
Intel P3 650
256 mb pc133 ram
SB PCI 512 sound card
and ATI Radeon 32mb DDR

I have the latest ATI, and Direct X drivers.
Thanks for any help.

MANY of us have these problems. It's usually with the Detonator XP drivers. If you don't have those drivers, well, then....

Since Remedy is just too dang LAZY (no offense guys) to release a patch, here's what most of us have done:

-Use software T & L
-Play at a relatively low resolution (doesn't have to be 640x480, just not any friggin' 1600x1200.)
-Play at 16-bit color
-Lower the details that you find unimportant, e.g., shadows.

We are still working on the issue with Nvidia and Ati. It's quite complex to say the least.

We will probably run a beta test period before releasing a new patch, since changing the Direct3D memory management behaviour is quite hmm.. well.. "kids, don't try this at home" kind of stuff. :)
