Ya know, I loved Max Payne so much, and when I really get into something like that, and my journalistic spirits starts moving at the same time, I just go berserk with the keyboard...

So -- maybe you've seen it -- I made this huge (well...) review website dedicated to Max Payne and all its levels, with ratings and all, and best of all (I thought) -- reader comments forms. But it seems to be hard to draw visitors to it (don't really wanna "spam" this forum and whine about it like this) ... I was really looking forward to read some reader feedback on there. Maybe I just write too long reviews, or maybe the interest in the game has faltered, I don't know? I figured, if we could get some discussions up there, maybe interest would increase.

Would love to hear some critique about it here, too, if you have any comments or tips to share -- tell me what you really think about it, and what I can improve. Visitor feedback means everything!

One of my inspirations has been this music review site (http://www.markprindle.com), which just flourishes with discussions. If I could achieve that, I'd be in heaven. images/icons/wink.gif

Anyway, here's the URL: The Max Payne Review (http://www.algonet.se/~lidbjork/maxpayne).

Thanks in advance!

You should contact sites like Max Payne HQ or 3DActionPlanet and apply for hosting... Give you the space you need for those large screenies.

Great site. I don't think I've ever seen anyone else take the game apart level by level.

I'm sending the link to the team so everyone can take a look. :-)

Looks like a lot of work went into the making of this site. Nice job man. The level by level reviews are a tad too objective in my opinion. Sort of like when someone picks apart an Arnold movie 'cause there's no plot. I don't go to an Arnold movie for the plot. I go for the action. And Max Payne is the best action game I've ever played...

My hat is off to you, sir. Very fine account of the levels. Actually it made me want to play Max all over again and see if I agree with your points... images/icons/grin.gif

I had a wide smile on my face when reading it all the way through. What a nice idea, it's almost like a walkthrough but not quite. A tour?

Kudos!

Thanks for all the nice words about my site! I'm really glad that you enjoyed it! It's not often that one can write a review of something and know that the creator(s) actually read it. Thanks PetriRMD for showing it to the team!!!

Bushido -- I agree with you totally. I sensed the "problem" already when I wrote the reviews -- I spent a bit too much time describing the levels rather than giving them critique/praise from a personal point of view. Sometimes, it was a bit hard -- the game is about shooting, and it's excellent all of the time... Still, I can talk about those levels for hours. But it can also be kind of nice in its own way, like Skaven said, it's almost like a walkthrough but not quite (yep, I think "tour" is the right word, Skaven images/icons/smile.gif ). Perhaps I will edit some of the reviews later, I don't know.

Bruce -- I contacted Max Payne HQ and the guy said that he had already seen the site and was planning to contact me images/icons/shocked.gif so I will soon be hosted there. Thanks for the tip!!!

I also contacted Joe or someone at 3DR for linking on this site (I used the address there), but haven't gotten a reply. Maybe someone from RMD can tell him if you get the opportunity. Would be cool to hear what he thought, at least.

Lastly, You are always very welcome to share your comments right on the site's pages too. They don't have to be long at all, just a few words on what your view is on the chapter in question, with your rating. Or what you thought of my review. I'm just very keen on reading others' opinions on the chapters in MP. images/icons/smile.gif
