i have just bought max payne from the shops and it didnt work so well.

The graphics were messed up, so i got some new drivers for my TNT2 from nvidia.com

i installed them and the game worked ok for a while, and then my compuetr automatically turned off half way throgh the train station part.

So i decided to get the latest patch 1.02, and the game is worser now, it turns off my computer as soon as i play the game.

Can any one help me

My specs are
Packard bell 666mhz
128 ram
TNT 2
Latest nvidia drivers
Windows 98se

The only thing I can say is use older drivers for your TNT2 card, the newer ones are very buggy with Max payne(among others). I think the 5.22 are very good for TNT owners, the newer ones are more GF oriented.

I may be way off target here... but your computer switching off after 10 minutes of play sounds like it could be an overheating probelm with the video card. Some TNT2 cards seem to fall into a bit of a "blind spot" of the technology, where the cards were powerful enough to generate quite a bit of heat but before adequate fans and heatsinks were routinely supplied to go with them. Try taking the side panel off your computer and, if you have a fan somewhere lying about, maybe even point that into the open box and see if it makes any difference. If this seems to work, you can probably get a stronger cooling fan for a long-term solution.

(PS to Pepe... "I mentioned the war once. But I think I got away with it...)
