Just found this on game informer, it seems there may be another Half-Life maybe the 3rd installment or episode 3.

And can we please have back some of the "what the hell is going on" part, which made hl1 so great? Not that i'm dissing HL2, but i actually liked HL1 storyprogression better, yes that includes Xen.

Xen was awesome. A refreshing change from Black Mesa corridors. I didn't even know so many people hate it. Kind of missed it in HL2.

Xen outdoors was pretty good. More creative than what can normally be expected when creating an alien atmosphere. It was stuff like On A Rail that I hated in the first Half-Life. Now, the only part which I still care to play is from Questionable Ethics to the end of Surface Tension.

I really liked that alien environment, HL2 is great to me but I wonder what on earth have happened to Xen and the creatures living there. I hope HL2 Ep 3 will come back to the "WTF ALIENs World??" kind of finale that the original game had.

the story in the game might not have been anywhere as nice as the one for half life 2. But the engine improvements were impressive. Whatever game they DO make next, if it has a story development nearly as good as half life 2, then with whatever technology they are using today, it ought to measure up

I'm conflicted: I really like the L4D games, and I hope that Valve
keeps them going. The problem is that, at the same time, they
are not putting 100% of their effort behind episode 3.

A couple things that I'd like to see out of Valve: a new Counter
Strike, featuring at between 2- and 4-player story co-op, a way
for Valve to compete for the Rainbow Six Vegas market.

Also, I'd like to see a new story co-op game, at least with 2-players,
that takes place in the Half-Life universe. It doesn't have to be
Gordon, and his clone (think Halo 1-ODST), but perhaps it would
be a couple of survivors. Actually, that sounds like a cool idea.
Or, they could make another game like "Decay". In case you didn't
know, "Decay" was the co-op game mode found on the PS2 release
of Half-Life.

Anywho, with what ever they make, I think that Valve has parked
itself, in a good way, in the position of producing co-op story
games, even if one of those games consists of short stories.

I don't think it was the alien environment that people hated, but the platforming. I mainly didn't like that there was this big spider thing with a bunch of little babies and I didn't really have the ammo to kill it.
