Control lag & sticky key problems

hello all,

i using version 1.02 of max payne & have this awful problem of pressing a key & either waiting 1-2 seconds for something to happen on screen or nothing at all. also the keys appear to stick? ( press forwards & continue to move forwards even though i've stopped pressing the key?, so far i haven't got past the tutorial its so bad. i've tried running at 640x480 minimum settings & it's the same as 1280x960 everything maxed, any ideas as to what going on?.

athlon 1.33& 1.46mhz
512mb crucial pc2100ddr
epox 8k7a+ mb
radeon 64mb ddr vivo with 3286 win xp drivers
creative soundblaster audigy player( winxp update drivers )
winxp pro.

Actually, I don't. I can't say I recall hearing of this one before. Will pass on to Remedy.

Do you have the problem also with moving the mouse? Eg, if you just look around, do you still get the lag?

Have you tried disabling sounds (just be sure...)?

i don't get any mouse lag, just keyboard. i'll try disabling the sound later & see if that's the culprit.

found the problem, i use a program called gamelauncher. as i don't like having loads of icons on my desktop i simply have this prog on the quicklaunch bar, & launch all my games from this. when i click on the link for max payne in the start menu instead, i get no lag at all( thank god ) so this program is the problem. now playing max payne just fine images/icons/smile.gif .

ps. bloody tasty game.
