So... I wonder how long it'll be before the designers all start mysteriously dying?

Nah, first they will throw money at him.
Than he can design the hell out of some prototypes (pssst the patents are theirs), and next step? Cargocrate next to the arc of the covenant...
And one aditional divorced homeless guy on the streets.

That's if they want to play nice...
Otherwise they'll shadowfinance his company, take away the parachute.
When he then spirals into debt, you eat the remains and spit him out.
No need to pay for a hit, if you can bleed him dry.

eh, none of it means anything.
how can you quantify the MPG rating of a car that burns no gas?
I think the standard is charge a battery based on KWH @ the cost of 1 gallon of gas
42 MPH top speed, 1200 lbs with driver built on an indy car chassis,
they did not discuss range, but probably < 50 miles.
I mean it is an amazing achievement for the kids,
but it is not going to revolutionize anything.

I asked myself the same thing.
But i don't believe they would take the "jump" over "costs".

gasoline has an energy value, as does a battery. No need to do math shenanigans.
I think they should have clarified what they ment with that.

How about THIS e car then?
