Star Blazers Live action movie

I was looking for the opening theme of the anime series & found the teaser for the apparent live action version. Seems it'll be released in Japan in December, with an American release next Spring. I used to love this show when I was a kid, and that theme music always got me pumped. Even though I'm sure it'll be somewhat cheesy, I'm really looking forward to this.

Also that's the intro to the PS2 game. Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTuPK66J300) is the actual trailer to the movie. Anyone else think this looks a bit like Japanese BSG?

Apparently they've replaced a couple of the male characters with female ones (the doctor and some other dude) and given Yuki a bigger role. Considering her original role was pretty much limited to being the obligatory love interest and the coffee girl, there's definitely a lot of room for expansion for her.

Hell yeah, this movie looks like a lot of fun. Now we just need the Captain Harlock movie production to take off.
