Ever wonder what the Unreal 3 engine would look like running on an iPhone or iPod/iPad? Well now you don't have to. Check out this YouTube clip. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sy2hXtUN2t0)

Graphics are absolutely incredible. I figured most of the demo would take place inside but soon discovered that I could explore vast outside areas. In addition to the usual 3D controls, Epic has added a tap-and-go-there kind of navigation that I really like. This is basically a tech demo that shows off the scalability of the Unreal 3 engine. Check it out. (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/epic-citadel/id388888815?mt=8)

Sadly, all I have is an Ipod Touch G2... so I guess this probably won't run on my device at all, huh? Looks pretty bad ass for an idevice demo though...

[edit] Yup, I tried it... doesn't work at all because it requires an OpenGL 2.0 Ipod/ Ipad/ Iphone

Looks cool, but terrible control wise.

Still, don't see this taking off as everyone seems to want to make quick and dirty cheap games for iPhones to quickly make money.

Plus the lack of definitive controls is a huge, huge minus to them. No matter what, that makes the PSP and DS family of Handhelds much better gaming machines since they were made with gaming actually in mind and not a tack on like with every phone.

PSP? Phew, it's a chore to play on that device. Ergonomically class B.

Less of a chore than the iPhone.
