Error

I am haveing a problem with mp, i am getting an error, at the end of the intro, it says,

An error has occured in the graphics engine. try to downgrade your screen mode and/or other settings by pressing the "options" button in max payne startup dialog. Mp requires a directx 8 compatible display adapter Error: failed to validate material

i did what it told me 2 do, passed all the test, and everything, i downloaded the patch to.

the adapter i am useing is nvidia vanta (compaq)
screen mode 640 x 480 x 16 (tried all)
acceleration d3d software t&l. what should i do for the problem, if there is no help i just sell it and buy it on the ps2, thnx

Have you turned Everything off?

Like anti aliasing?
Not saying thats the problem bt have you trie that? I didnt and got a similar prblem when i first bought max payne

nevermind i got it working by downloading a drive images/icons/cool.gif

what did u download and where did u download it from? i have the same prob and i cant find nething that will work for it. by the way, what are your system specs?
