I thought it was good. This is that movie with Ben Affleck where they are bank robbers in Boston. Once again Jeremy renner the guy from Hurt Locker turns in a real solid performance. When he punches someone or sticks a gun in thier face I can beleive it.
It's not great but it's pretty good, if you liked Heat you'll probabaly like this too.

Yeah, thought it was pretty decent. They changed a few things from the book, but I liked it. I agree, Jeremy Renner was the star of the show.

It never ocured to me there was a book, I assumed Hollywood script from theh word go. I've only been to Boston once and I know this will sound weird but I thought Renner did a more realistic Boston Accent than Ben Affleck did. I know Affleck is from there but it seemed like he was putting it on extra heavy, I'll bet most don't tahk like dat ta dat dahgree. I know the New York accent is often way overdone in movies.Goodfellas and Sopranos got it right.

It's based off the book 'Prince of Thieves' by Chuck Hogan. A very good read that goes into a lot of details about heists and the complexities of stealing an armored truck, along with all the drama in between of course. Sadly the ending was changed.

Could you tell me in a spoiler how it ended in the book? I know what I would have liked to have seen happen, it was hinted at at that it might one day. I can still never forgive hollywood for ruining one of my favorite books Hannibal by totally screwing up the ending with silliness.

You probably guessed it already...
Dougie gets killed by Frawley.

I was thinking more along the lines of romantic happily ever after. You kow whats worse? I forgot all thier names, I just know the actors who played them.
( Edit) IMDB to the rescue. Personally if i was Affleck right after Kobayashi got a little smart in the mouth I would have made sure right there he never saw another sun rise.
The only thing that bothered me about the action was a I thought the driving was a little weak. The wheelman was supposed to be a lifelong pro car thief. In my experience all car thieves are pretty good behind the wheel, he was skidding around like an amateur trying to go to fast in a rental car.

Just to clarify.
Well I suppose the very end of the book could be considered somewhat happy, as it ends with a flashback of the crew, already in their blue jumpsuits, joking around just before the main heist where Doug (Ben Affleck) meets Claire. But yeah, the main difference being that all of the crew is killed instead of Ben Affleck getting away in the movie.

I sort of like the movie ending better. Even though the way you say it in the book is probablymore realistic.
Anyway this movie seems to have gotten overlooked. No one is talking about it and it was the best heist movie I've seen in a long time.
