Can't see FPS

I saw a thread on this a while back but its now gone.

I entered the "showfps" command but i cannot see the FPS

i have the -developer enabled, it acknowledges about 8 lines of stuff, but i am still not able to see the FPS.

Did you hit the F11 key afterward?

no...

the -developer *.txt file didn't mention that part images/icons/wink.gif

the f11 key doesn't do anything :-/

anyone know how i can get the fps to show up?
