There was a giant snowstorm. It was probably hard enough to drive. But he could have found better than that crappy Chrysler. And a mod won't work either. Your car would be rotating when you turned your mouse and there's the sidestepping problem.

...Or you could just play GTA3.

Why does everyone say that? They're not the same at all. That's saying any third person game is like the other.

Maybe they think driving indoors would be really cool? Try turning a Buick around in a living room or driving a Chevy Van up the stairs. images/icons/wink.gif
Right. So you'd need outdoors for driving. OK, so the streets look a little empty. We need traffic, mon. Sorry, that leaves less and less memory for detailed indoors and cool firefight effects. The indoors shooting would have to be simplified a great deal or left out completely.
In other words, putting driving into the game would not just add to the game. It would also take away some things due to memory etc limitations. You can't (yet) have everything (http://www.fatbabies.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=335) in one game.

No, it's saying if you want to commandeer a vehicle forcibly and drive around, play GTA3. If, however, you'd prefer to have a lot of shootouts (that don't involve driving in any way, shape or form), play Max Payne.
They're nothing alike. That's why it is suggested that, if people want to hoon around in stolen cars like mad reprobates on crack, causing mayhem with firearms (quite fun, I might add), then they should play the game that lets them do that best (and that is not Max Payne).

LOL
The 2 foot tall car parks at the feet of an unsuspecting thug, honks its tiny little horn, and Max busts out the side blazing Uzis.
He should drive a Sit 'n' Spin. No wait! How about a Pinto! That way, he could use his car as a weapon by backing up into people to make the car explode! Of course, Max would die in the ensuing catastrophe, but who cares?!

And why does everyone bring GTA3 into this so much?<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">It's the first thing that comes to mind when talking about driving in a crime-ridden urban environment.
I'm looking forward to seeing Mafia, BTW. AFAIK, that one contains both indoor shooting and outdoor driving.

Indeed. I went from wanting Mafia, to thinking Mafia was too much game and realism for me, and now I've looped back to wanting Mafia.

Skaven has a valid point. But if that was to be done, I'd say a motorcycle would be better. Max could do cool stunds instead of dodges. I just can't imagine how a bullet time would look in a car images/icons/smile.gif
But yes, it's gonna be impossible for another 5 years or so. And why does everyone bring GTA3 into this so much? Do you think Remedy should just steal GTA and make it Remedy GTA 3D?

I saw Mafia at a backroom demo at the 2001 E3 show, and it looked killer. Looks great.

I changed my mind when I saw the lighting effects and the yellow leaved trees of fall. As well as the missions where you go on a romantic evening walk with your girlfriend. *Looks at George* maybe they'll have nudity and... other stuff in their game.
