Max payne sound and freezing issues

I have Max Payne for the Xbox.

it always freezes on the Cold steel level right at the beginning.

Also, I am having some sound issues because evry time I go into bullet time there is this high pitched squeal. I know its not right because I have played the computer version.

any suggestions. (i called xbox already)

There's not really much you can do with a console game - there's no command line parameters, no settings to tweak or anything like that.

Maybe its the disk itself? Can I get another one?

I doubt it's that. You could try, but you'd have to return it to where you bought it from - we have never sold the Xbox version directly (or the PS2).
