This here is a question that was emailed to us. I post it and the answer here to serve greater numbers. (I think this has been discussed before, but could not confirm it now.)
Hi!
I bought Max payne (PC version) about a year ago, and i really think itīs great! But somethingīs wrong....
Problem - I have a really great computer ( P4 1,7Ghz - 512 sdrram - 64 Mb DDR ram 3dcard Geforce3 ) But i canīt see the bullets go trough the air in the pause mode! Whatīs WRONG!!??????????? Yes, I have put the Graphics on the higest mode ( No lagging ) But it still does not work...
The bullets fly in Bullettime...but not in the pause mode!
Big question huh? I have now tried EVERYTHING but it still dont work in the pause mode! Why???
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Here's why: In normal time speed the bullets are not drawn at all to optimize the computer performance (not to cause slowdowns).
Now you know that playing with time is an important gameplay element in Max Payne and that it is very cool to see actual bullets flying in the air. The bullets are drawn ONLY when time scale is changed. Thus, you can get bullets shown on your screen by slowing down the time.
You can slow down the time by going to developer mode and pressing Home and End keys (home speeds up and end slows down the time). To get to the developer mode add to the max payne icon properties -developer -developerkeys to the target line.
