I'm posting this on behalf of a friend of mine who has been waiting for about 3 months for his 3d realms validation to come through (apparently).
He's trying to create a brand new skeleton, and has come against the following problem:
When I started Max Payne with a new(totally corect) *-collision.kfs,
it gave me the following error:
Exception:
KF2: Invalid Geometry: Skeleton mesh objects names and .SKD object
names don't match(skeleton [pigrat.txt], skeleton(clone),bone Tail, skd BkLeg-L)
Closing...
Whats the reason behind this. And if there's anything done wrong, whats the solution? <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Anyone have any ideas?

Hey Maddie, Hairless Wookie over at the Lightsaber mod (hosted on MPHQ) has made a new skeleton for an ATST. Might be a help to talk with him and ask if he has ran into the same problem????

Yeah, and Zer0's done something similar with his...er,..latest 3ds max creation. But whether or not, either of them have got it in-game (with a new collision dection mesh) is another issue.
Thanks, I'll look into it. images/icons/smile.gif

I think the collision and the pose's bone names and hierarchy have to match. But I'm not sure of this as i have yet to create a proper collision with milkshape, if you even can. I dont know anything about the collision, only that the widepose has to somehow match even though it reports the error in the skeleton.txt (which pose is the first anim line in the skeleton.txt) Also FYI I've found that the pose cannot be overridden in the modifiers section of the skin file.

Interesting, thanks. images/icons/smile.gif
I'll relay this over to the Sayantan and see if helps him.

Hey maddie...was your friend succesful with the collision mesh? I've been using 3dsmax 3.1 trying to create a collision for the ATST but the only collisions are still at it's feet. I got it to load up in the game with no errors tho, and the area seems to be larger than the maxpayne collision, but its all at the base of its feet in the middle.

Hmm..no luck so far - I've not had time to look into it myself, either.
