I know that MP has plugins for 3DStudio. How does this work? Is it possible to draw an object like a chair in 3DS and then save the object as an .lvl, so to make a library of pre-defined objects? The readme does not give much clue about it.

Is it possible, for instance, to draw a new gun for Max?

I don't have 3DS and I don't to know how to use it, but if this works I might ask some people to draw a couple of objects thus easing my workload.

Thanks

With 3ds max you can create new characters; weapons; projectiles; and player, weapon, & camerapath animations.

Unfortunately you can't export anything from 3ds into MaxEd, neither can you import existing animations or meshes into 3ds. However, using a shareware program called Milkshape 3d, it's possible to edit the existing skins and animations.

You could always use Milkshape to open existing meshes and anims and then save them out to a format that 3DS CAN read. images/icons/wink.gif

save them out to a format that 3DS CAN read. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Except there aren't any - not for animations at least. Anyway, my Milkshape has run out, so I can't export anything from it. images/icons/frown.gif

Then again, I couldn't skin anyway; so no major loss there. images/icons/grin.gif

Thanks for the infos.

This means I'll have to do everything by myself and could not import pre-existing objects that other people had. :-/

I didn't knew the Milkshape thing. I'll see if I can use that tool after building the complete level.

Thanks guys.
