A few months ago you guys released 2 level files of max payne. And I was wondering if you could please release some more???

Or maybe some parts of levels, like the basic room level which is token form the hotel level.

Please, that's all I want for christmas! Yeah that would be a great idea I think, a release of two ( or more images/icons/smile.gif ) levels for christmas!

That would be great; there are several levels that I wouldn't mind - particularly the hotel levels and rooftop chase.

However, I doubt it will happen, because it's basically giving parts of the game away for free. The levels that were released were probably the ones that were included in the demo. Also, it wouldn't take long for someone to mod them together and make them playable with the demo version.

Still worth a try though. graemlins/hhg.gif

Well I've downloaded the demo a few months ago, and if my memory serves me, the first hotel level was in it. I hope someone of remedy or 3drealms reads this.

My mistake then, I bought the game without trying the demo.

I doubt it. It's like releasing source code, dev's don't like to do that...

not all developers, i.d. has always gave help to the community by releasing some code from them to everyone who wishes to make levels and add cool stuff to the games.

apart from i.d. any developers do release source code of their games sumtmes?

Remedy aren't going to release the source code - not until they're done with Max Payne 2, and it doesn't look like they're going to take the engine any further. As it stands, they're standing in a nice position where they can licence it to other developers in the future (should they wish to). Until there is no interest in the engine, I can't see them releasing it for free.

But as for levels, I think when Max Payne 2 comes out (or maybe slightly before) they should consider releasing some more. It might just be one of the kicks that gets the communities back into shape in time for Max Payne 2 (seeing as a lot of good modders have moved over to the ut2k3).

Well, here's hoping - but in the mean time, I've got mods to make. images/icons/wink.gif

Like I said before, just pray for it. In class today I thought about a whole E-commerce thing. Like: Download a max payne LVL file for 3 ( or 2, 1, 4 ) dollars each.

I hope that someone form Remedy or 3drealms will reply at this post! images/icons/smile.gif

If I remember correctly, all Remedy released was the two subways, and not complete levels.

Hi Roneye, and others.
I don't know how I missed this thread, so sorry about the answer taking this long.

Anyway, the answer is probably not what you want to hear...we will not release the source code (or level files). This is the way it stands at the moment. This could change, of course, in the future. Just that it's not very probable.

Thanks for confirmation - I thought that was the case. graemlins/doh.gif

We'll just have to make the most of what has been released. images/icons/smile.gif

But hanks for the reply!
