Does anyone out there know how to make a collision? can i use the collision.kf2 instead of the .kfs? I'm trying to make a collision for an ATST that I've added as a character. My projectiles go right through it. I'm using the maxpayne collision. The only way to damage this character is by using explosives at his feet.
If anyone out there can set up collisions fairly easily, please help me out. The atst is about 6 or 7 maxpaynes tall and 4-5 meters wide.

Yeah, actually I kind of need to know this too for...uh...something... images/icons/rolleyes.gif

I presume you need to use 3ds max 3 and the skin exporters, but since I don't have that I can't really test it out.

At any rate, I'll ask around, and if I find anything I'll let you know. Likewise, if you find the solution, please remember to post it here.

what do u mean by collisions?<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Basically there is a skin file which contains a large mesh that envelopes the character (think of giant square boxes around the character). The game uses these to calculate the projectile hit detection.

Thanks much maddie.

It's just that our release is in 2 weeks and I want to get it done on time. I wouldnt even care if it were some big rectangle and you couldnt shoot through atst's legs. For now i suppose i will have to make map-based projectile triggers that kill the robot.
I do have a copy of 3dsmax 3.1 Will that work for skin export and collision?

I presume you just export as a mesh...
