btw, tell that designer to preferably find a place for the button in a place where it stands still, now it's aligned wrong (should be valign=top and is probably middle or default)

I made several different lens flares in Photoshop, then made several different particle effects out of each one. Then, in game, had to have several different FSM's for each source of light that I wanted to throw off lens flares. images/icons/tongue.gif

Lens flares as pfx ... that, Sir, plainly is ingenious! And btw the screenies are phantastic!

OMG! those lens flares are AMAZING it makes it look freakily realistic, with the photodigitised textures images/icons/tongue.gif drools

Thanks guys. Actually, you can see early versions of my lens flares in the last Evolution demo, in the Sector 4 level. But, as you can see I made slightly better versions shortly after I released the demo. images/icons/wink.gif
Also, the light on the lightstick there is pretty much just a lens flare modified for that particular aplication.

Erm... quite easy to see where Strat hosts his pics images/icons/tongue.gif

Hey Ace, do you know of any way to attach a pFX to a camera? I mean, with straight messages. In camerapaths, the camera doen't know what "this" is. I'm trying to work out a sort of image enhancement mode for the sniper view with pfx and HUD alphas.

Well, you could use the pfx in an FSM and then group it to the camera in the front of it..... OR, you could just make this new hud out of brushes in the map and of course attach it properly to the camera and they could use alphas for transparency. Of course, if you wanted some complicated animated effect the pfx would be the way to go. Although never overlook what all can be done with DO's. They RULE! In an early Evolution map I once made an entire destructable building out of DO's. You should have seen it, it looked amazing when it came crashing down. Unfortunately I overdid it a bit and it totally killed the frame rates, so I scrapped it..... but boy, was it sweet! images/icons/smile.gif
