images/icons/confused.gif What would be the best thing to do to make a wall built with 2x1x1m blocks images/icons/confused.gif :

I'd go for the brick texture - unless you're thinking of making a dynamic wall that explodes. Making individual bricks will just slow the game down needlessly.

Thanks images/icons/smile.gif
Some of it will have to be DO, but most of them not. I think I'll make a comination.

Yeah, just use a block-like texture. If you make a lot of different blocks (more polygons) it will indeed slow down more then when you use just a block-like texture. If you don't have a proper block-like texture you can make the wall out of blocks, make a screenshot and then use the screenshot as the texture.

what about that scene in mp where after max has his detonater he blows this door open and alex is waiting on the other side of the door and they start talking and so on?
didnt that door involved sum making seperate blocks and using a texture to cover it up and then when they explode it makes a big hole to walk thru?

the static part of the wall has just been one mesh with brick texture.
then they bool-substractet the part that'd be blown away, and then filled it up with seperate DO-bricks, having the same texture again. (actually since those are propably 2 seperate rooms, i'd be a bool-union.)
