What to do to get a model inside 3ds max, so i can animate on it? Is it possible to import the skeleton and stuff inside 3ds? Or how do you guys do it?

Much to my frustration, the only file you can use is the run.max animation which is provided with the max-fx installtion. This means that you have to start all of your animations from scratch.
Further problems include the way that the file is set up to loop every 40 frames. It took me a good few weeks to figure out how to get around it.
I'm planning to release a new template max file with the animation returned into its default state. While the more advanced tools like ik constricters will be reduced, I'm hoping that beginners will find it a lot easier to work with.
Anyway, if you're still stuck - search for a thread titled "1000fps animations" - that has a lot of good links to 3ds max animation threads.

As for animating your characters to see how they will look inb the game, import the animation in ms3d, then the player model, like Max payne for example, and then import its .skd file and press the animate button and then click the play, trianlge button. easy as hell to animate btw, you'll learn it in a sinch...
