is there a way to make weapons from first person games work in third person games,i.e max payne? because i tried just scaling it but dont know if that is all tha is required!!!

there's plenty of ways, but keep in mind that 90% of FPS games have polys cut that you wont see from that angle in order to help with fps. Merely scaling won't work, as you'll have to edit it to fit the max payne engine, which includes minor bone editing as well as positioning of the weapon.

In case u r using Max 4, u wont have to care about bones.It happens automatically.Just watch out for its position,scale and rotation.It's bound to work perfectly.

Sometimes 3dsMax gets weird... if that's the case, you can highlight a piece of mesh, right click, and select 'properties'. Under properties, you'll find an option that says 'Bone on/off'.... check the box, and BAM! It's a bone now.
That helps if you have problems animating. Also makes linking stuff easier when you have a lot of moving parts.

yeah my idea was to convert the nuclear missile rack i made for fed faction to be in max but it would as big as poor max........ and yeah im having trouble with max 4 lately it's being a bitch to me. i dont know why! images/icons/confused.gif it just isnt working right sometimes......

Well, you'll have to scale it pretty small. If you're using milkshape, use one of the other weapons lod.kf2 file as a reference point when scaling....

what I did for a mod I made for my self was make one of the moves do a fov change. though I couldt move (like in most games) I was able to do 1st to 3rd.
