.. and much more as well.

An in-depth academic analysis of Max Payne and its hidden socio-political meanings (http://www.efn.org/~dredmond/PP7.PDF).

My comment at this point: Gee. images/icons/smile.gif

This paper is actually a part of a larger analysis (http://www.efn.org/~dredmond/penguin.html) of the information age.

And I thought it was just a bog standard shoot-em up that used Matrix bullet time to sell it. images/icons/wink.gif

Seriously though, thanks for digging that up. It looks like an interesting read; I only had time to read the introduction, but I plan to finish it later, when I have more time.

Thanks. images/icons/smile.gif

Just finished reading it myself. Pretty interesting actually.

I think, like with all analyses, Sam Lake probably never realized that this is what he wanted to say with the Max Payne plot. It's good that there are people out there who can punctuate and clarify what you really wanted to say. graemlins/hhg.gif

But you don't hate to think what the fact that you think your mod is going to be academically analyzed says about you?

Well, seriously, the analyst actually included a Half-Life mod in his analysis (They Hunger), so why not.

A great read!

I knoticed (Sorry, I know this should be in the mods forum) that the Junkies (And other enemies) seem to think that their Chainsaws are guns. So they'll sometimes stand at a distance and flail their Chainsaws all over the place, sometimes lobbing off their buddies heads and other limbs.

(I'll quickly respond to this: I noticed the glitch too; I'm not sure why, because I set them to melee combat after equiping the saw - maybe I missed one.)

When I was fighting the first boss (The guy with his pants around his ankles in the bar) one of his hench men was trying to keep a distance from me and started flailing around his chain saw like nuts. eventually he got to close to the mob boss guy and killed him for me. Nice one images/icons/grin.gif

I'm throwing this thread off topic, so i'll stop.
