Hey, thanks for the welcome. How long have you been playing the game?

Would you be intrested in joining a Max Payne Design group called MPD. I know you are pretty new to the game but everyone is a newbie sometime. If you are intrested just reply to the Vannim Design Masters thread.

Welcome to the forum!

I've played MP three times due to the lack of time, and I'm afraid just to think how much time Basky spent on it.
Personally I'm going to try MP mods (still going images/icons/frown.gif : I have some problems with them), but now I have a person to advise me.

What are MP mods?

Join a design group for Max Payne? Designing what, a new game? That would be interesting.

MP should be cheap azz now...but it's been a year I played it(I think)...only memories. If you're looking into MP mods...MAKE sure you check ken Y's kung fu mod....tops all and adds life to replayability!

What are MP mods? <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Mods are modifications to the game in any way possible - changing levels, characters, weapons, animations, etc. You read about the most anticipated mods here (http://forums.3drealms.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=003910); also you can check out the lastest development progress in the max payne modding forum - If you have a question about modding, you can post that there, too. images/icons/smile.gif

For some reason I don't like the game anymore. Ilike the story and the character but I just don't like the game anymore. I don't mean to be rude but the new game better have some serious improvments if they expect to sell like Max Payne did. I think it was more of a wow! title. Once the wow wore off everyone forgot all about it.

Although I could just be a minority. I may be the person or one of the few people that feels that way.

Although I could just be a minority. I may be the person or one of the few people that feels that way. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Quite a few people thought it was a gimmick game, i.e. a standard shoot-em up with a bullet-time. Personally, I disagree, but that's probably why the console versions weren't as well received by the critics. They lacked the graphics (one of its main selling points), and the development tools. It's no secret that the game is quite short, and without the tools (or the interest) to make your own variants; I could see someone getting tired of it pretty quickly.

I (initially) bought it for the bullet-time and dev-tools, but since I've got into the whole modding thing, I think it's been my best purchase to date.

Once you hear and see everywhere people admiring the game, and sometimes more than it's worth, you try to find any faults in it. Dont know if you share my opinion, but , for me, I liked the game more, even madly, before I've read articles and so forth on it.

Most people will try to stop liking something once they find out that everyone else likes it too.

I got it on a friends recommendation and it sat on my shelf for 6 months. (for some reason I couldn't figure out how to get past the boarded up tunnel in Roscoe Street and gave up. d'oh!)

I went back to it over the summer holidays and completed it over the course of about 2 weeks and am currently on my third playing (dead on arrival images/icons/wink.gif )

I personally don't think that playability is limited (ok so I can see where people are coming from) and the wow factor is still there for me cos this is such an absorbing game.

Roll on part 2, I really need to know what happens images/icons/smile.gif

Well atleast you only had one copy sitting on the shelf. Being a total dumb a$$ I ended up with two copies of Max. Sure I love the game but two copies. LOL

Sad note to 3DRealms though. My DN3D mouse pad was replaced by Max.

Used Max Payne pad though, now it's displayed with the signed box on the top of my shelf... carefully dusted every now and then...
