Some of you may have noticed that shootdodging reloads your guns. This is not a bug, it is a feature. The idea was to prevent the embarassing "I'm performing a cool shoot-dodge but my guns go click-click-click" situation. You've never seen that happen to a hero in a John Woo movie, have you? images/icons/wink.gif
You can use this to your advantage. The sawed-off shotgun is devastating at close range, but has only two barrels. However, if you fire both barrels, then perform a shootdodge before Max reloads the gun, you can fire off another two rounds right away.

Speaking of shootdodging, I noticed a "candidate" bug.
When you are shootdodging, it is impossible for you to die. 10 suits might be down on you, and nothing. You health just maxes out but you don't die.
Now, I'm sure that alot of people have found this, but I'm just curious: this was done on purpose, right?
(I guess the animators didn't want to create animations of Max dying in the air, eh? images/icons/tongue.gif )

Yes, it was done on purpose, and you guessed why. Also, it can give you this "oh cool, I shootdodged away from a grenade blast and just barely survived" feeling. images/icons/smile.gif

I knew about the grenade-death-avoidance (or GDA) but never about the insta-reload. GDA is very helpful when you're really hurt and close to baddies, just dive into them and fire a grenade at one of their chest's, and boom they go dead.
Speaking of fiery death, how come everyone dies the same way to a grenade? They all (Max too) fly up in the air with their arms out. Can't they lose a limb or something tasty like that? Maybe just have their spleen go flying across the room on fire, ala shooting gas tanks?
Guess I'm having dreams of Max Fortune: Soldier of Payne 42.

Spleen! I demand Spleenness in sequel. This would suffice for spleen graemlins/mryuck.gif so just have some of them flying across the screen and everything's good.

We donīt need spleens but I donīt like the way that you always blow up yourself and see the same fly away and drop down "action".

Hehe. They all die the same when caught on fire. It was pretty fun. I come around the corner with a molotov, and this guy is right there.
I throw it and the flames kill us both. It was hilarious! We're both facing each other and go into this "dance" type thing. Each doing the same thing as the other in a symmetrical dance manuveour.
The finale was great as both fell on the ground and rolled around in different directions, both to die in the same pose as the other.

Actually I made two variations of the Explosion Death animation, and two variations of the Fire Death animation. But they're not randomized, just different skins use different variations.

I do not care about the animations but really, I think there should have been SOME gibs. I mean an arm or two, a leg. something, cuz last time I shot my self with a m79 my legs and lower torso were lost.

In Ep3Pt3 (I think it was), after you enter the military underground building, I blew up to soldiers i a hall, and one of them landed on top of a console, or closet or something, very Hitman-like, and just looked like he was hanging there with his arms down towards the ground. It was tres cool.

I think it'd be good to have gore in the sequel, but not over the top (ala SoF). Really, if you want to make me happy, just give us an M79 grenade exploding in the mouth of the main bad guy and have the camera sweep around 20 thousand times in super slow mode. It's not much to ask.
Wait I just had an inspiration...Spleen launcher! Ok stick with me on this, see it works by disecting the bad guy you just killed and taking his spleen. Then you stuff it in a 'tato launcher and WHAMO next bad guy you see gets a facefulla spleen. graemlins/mryuck.gif splat

Listen, this game is supposed to play like a movie, so how can it play like a movie if it doesn't look like a movie? And how can it look like a movie if people splatter into pieces whenever an explosion goes off near them? How many films have you seen where the stuntman lets himself get blown up for the sake of good cinema? None. Exactly. They jump into the foam mats, they get yanked off their feet by the wire attached to their harness, but they do not let themselves get blown up. Capiche?
Besides, how many of you actually know what a spleen looks like anyway? I say you should all learn to appreciate the details of the human anatomy, and until that time no self-respecting games developer will even attempt to satisfy your crazy lust for blood and gore by including flying body parts in their game. So there.
