Guys,

I must commend you all on the efforts to find all the easter eggs in Max.

It seems like no-one has found the Tetris joke/reference though? At least I haven't seen any posts on that?

Hmm tetris joke. Tetris was made by a Russian, so it's probably somewhere in the level where you have to go raid the ship.

Wait a sec. That level has lots of containers stacked onto each other, it's gotta be there.

/me goes rummaging trough my savegames.

Uh oh, here we go again...

I wonder how many posts this one'll rack up? Skaven's "Easter Eggs" post on VE has over 300 and counting...

Enough talk. Time to load it up and start looking.

Probably not a real easter egg, but funny anyway. In an elevator in Part 1 - somewhere - you enter an elevator with some LOUSY elevator music. The first thing that came to mind, was to redecorate the speaker with my sawed off shotgun. And so I did.

This is where Max replies: "Thank you ... ".

It was funny that very moment, anyway images/icons/smile.gif

Anyway what I found as to be an easter egg in MP was when u need to enter a room but u need to say the password. so u get the guy to say it for u and the password turns out to be "John Woo" (famous director of those action flicks)

Well, I think we all know about the famour "rat shootout" egg, so I won't talk too much about that.

Notice that the plate of the mercedes is "VODKA". How typical.

Btw, imo, Vladimir is the coolest character in the game. images/icons/tongue.gif

Richo Morte joins his as the famous "dude-running-away-from-you-shooting-with-the-ingram-with-his-pants-down-to-his-knees". images/icons/grin.gif images/icons/grin.gif images/icons/grin.gif

Also, I don't know if it's me or my low texture settings, but in the bar scene (where Richo is getting the "job"), Candy Dawn looks horrably like a man. If you cheat and get the sniper rifle, you can definetly distinguish those manly features: five o'clock shadow, huge frown, cragly hair... images/icons/tongue.gif

images/icons/tongue.gif

And the Pulp Fiction scene where an Ingram is carelessly left on a kitchen counter and an unarmed dude steps out of the toilet. images/icons/smile.gif That got a laugh out of me.

She looked like she aged 20 years in the time after the cutscene ended.
She was positively evil looking. images/icons/smile.gif

Here are some of the eeggs i found.

3) The room with Solider of fortune 2 posters and a heckload of shotguns.

But I'm just about to play it again and there's probably much more to find.
all the funny comments from the henchmen are funny to. The one about bullet time especially images/icons/smile.gif

I'm not sure what the "easter egg" is, but I have an idea from reading the posts. Can someone clarify for me?

I always thought it was something special you find in a game, that isn't obvious...you have to LOOK for it. Thought that was the point of easter eggs..the bunny hides em, you find em, good eatin'. Things like "John Woo" and the license plate saying "vodka" aren't EEggs to me, because you get them so long as you play the game to that point.

There was another post about eggs, talking about the siren in bank, if you shoot it max says thank you (just like in elevator), and that rat one (which I still don't get).

No idea on the tetris one, unless it's howyou have to navigate through the crate yard, but that's pretty lame, so I doubt it's right.

i have found most of the EEggs above but the Tetris one??? theres something new.

EEggs are a good way to keep up game popularity, when smeone completes it they might just leave it...but since there are loads of pretty cool EEggs in the game it keep the gamers gaming. Was this intentional?

Hmm has anyone found this one:

Fist you need both the game and the MAX-FX tools Installed. Then use RASmaker.exe to extract x_english.ras. To Do this go to the start menu and select run. Then type the following INCLUDING the quote marks.
"c:\program files\max-fx tools\rasmaker\rasmaker.exe" "-x" "c:\program files\max payne\x_english.ras"
Also you may need to modify this depending of where you installed the game and/or MAX-FX tools.
If you typed everything right and remembered the quote marks x_english.ras should now be extracted. Now go to your max-fx tools directory (c:\program files\max-fx tools by default) and Go To the Rasmaker directory. From there go to data\database\sounds\ingame\misc\ and find rockstar.wav. Play it to hear the sound guys say hello to the people at Remedy.

its quite funny if you listen to it all the way through images/icons/smile.gif

Maybe i am just cluching at straws here but when i was playing Part 1 chapter 7 and i went onto the roof top of the buildings. I thought that the buildings in the distance seemed to be made up from the shapes in Tetris .

Is this just my imagination or is that what u were on about ??

I'm not sure if this was posted before, but in the tutorial, go over to the van where you get the sniper rifle, from there jump on van, then on the vents on the side of the building, then you can jump onto the fire escape, go to the top and shoot/jump through the glass, and you get an in-gram w/ painkillers.

It is on a billboard over head, outside and it is NOT the word Tetris. OK, already?

Mostly it's because Eggs are so much fun. We still have a lot of fond memories on playing Duke3D and finding so much cool stuff in that game, so we wanted to capture some of that fun factor.

Also working on them and hiding that stuff into the maps is a fun thing amidst the normal work images/icons/wink.gif

The hunt continues..

4) "The Dopefish lives" I believe it's chap1, part7 or something. You are just about to go and kill mr Bleed alot with the stomach wound. You can jump from a roof over to a fire stair and then down into a little alley with two doors. One of them leeds into a room with a picture of the dopefish with akimbo berettas, alot of molotovs and some handgranades.
Great version of a classic egg.
Some history: The dopefish first appeared as a monster in the game commander keen developed by ID-software. Then they used it in Quake as an eegg, with the the text THE DOPEFISH LIVES appearing on the screen. If you want to know what it looks like just check out the little icon on my post. Offcourse it's a lot bigger in reality images/icons/smile.gif

No tetris yet. But I will find it.

oo i found someethinn

well its kinda in plain sight but in the part where you need to find the guy to get you into the laundromat.. if you look out the window of that building thats at the top of the stairs there should be a spraypaint that says macros on whats that about?

andddd in the part in the aesir building when you're running on a catwalk on the side of it.. when the chopper shoots at u.. well there is like a little sculpture gallery with a really tall thin statue.. if you go to the side of the statue u can tell it was a pic of a naked lady that was resized and stuff

(yea i know i posted something about this before but no one answered.. so what the hell)

I found something, too. In Episode 1 Level 7 or 8 (Fear that gives man wings) right at the beginning when you are standing on the fireladder. There are two NPC standing around talking.
One is saying sth like
"It's so damn cold... It's the end of the world as we know it."
The other one answers: "Yes, and I don't feel fine".
I remember the R.E.M song "It's the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine)".

Was the scene where they tunnel through the subway and into a gold reserve supposed to be a Die Hard With A Vengeance reference/easter egg?

OK, I heard some stuff about another John Woo reference in which you hear doves' flapping wings. I tried to find it but failed, anyone know where's it at?

Nobody mentioned the secret room in Alfred Wodens office (Chapter 3 Part 5( or 6?) 'In The Land Of The Blind'. You can shoot a painting of the wall to find a button. Press it and you can enter a secret room. Turn on the TV!
