Spoiler - What happened to Mona?

Towards the end of the game, when Mona is shot, the elevator goes up, then comes back down and her body is gone. Max says something about how everything is now so clear. Fine, Max - but why didn't you share your newfound clarity with the rest of us? What happened to Mona? What became so clear to Max?

I always assumed that Max thought that Mona managed to escape and survived the gun shot. I assume she will play more of a role in either a possible expansion pack or sequal, since her disappearance is not explained further in the remaining portion of the game.

Remember the original purpose of valkyr?...Remember the inner circle leader surving the shoot out....and walking away unscathed?

There is your answer.....

It's small hints to help set up the sequel.

Guys I don't know about Mona returning in an expansion or Max Payne 2. I mean she was shot in the head. Maybe in this game bosses can take almost 100 shots in the head but it doesn't look like Mona survived that one. It could easily be a suit that picked her up and threw her in a dumpster somewhere. images/icons/tongue.gif

Hey that's cool if Mona is still alive. I guess she is according to you guys. But in the Graphic Novel scene it clearly shows that she gets railed in the head. In the next scene when she's slumped in the corner the blood on the wall is right next to her head. Sure that could of came from above the collar bone but then there would of been a stream line of blood following her fall.

I tried to take a screen of that scene about 5 mins ago by adding 'developerkeys' in the shortcut but it never seems to work. F10 is the screenshot key yeah? Maybe it is working but I just don't know where the screenshots end up going. Maybe someone else could do that so we can see where she gets shot. I'm curious to find out what other people think. BTW, it's in Part 3 - Chapter 7: Nothing to Lose.

Skaven I'm not saying your wrong or anything it's just that IMO, in the scene she looks like she gets hit in the head. I guess skinning her head is a possibility. images/icons/confused.gif

Skaven, you arn't very good at hiding that you know she's not. First defending that which would allow it then "suggesting" what the consensus should be. For the record I did think she was shot in the head, but even then you never know. People can survive that kind of stuff, rarly, but they can.

Max Payne 2 will probably sell like hotcakes (just like its predecessor), so perhaps she'll come back (if you aren't just trying to make us believe that she actually is dead.) images/icons/smile.gif

Ohhh, now Petri is going to tell off skaven("Don't tell them the story!") and try to quickly cover it up("She's dead, really, dead. please expect her to be dead"). And now that I've seen it again it COULD be the shoulder/back. I know film noir and a large part of it is people "Coming back from the dead". Unless of course you're talking about Grim Fandango, In which case the were already dead and the went somewhere else.

You guys are missing one fact. If she was shot in the head and merely grazed, it would still account for all the blood in the elevator. Serious or not, all head wounds bleed rather badly - they always look much worse than they really are (unless half the head is missing, then it really is as bad as it looks). And from the screenie, it does look like it was a graze...

I can imagine Mona coming back as the disabled wheelchair sidkick to Max Payne in the sequel (suggesting that the brain damage prevents her from walking again). Think about a disabled Mona flying through the air in slowmotion with a wheelchair..
Or maybe I'm just a very sick person. I know i shouldn't had stayed up all night listening to the pink flamingo.. GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!
