Rats I'm stuck - help?

I'm stuck on what I believe could be the final level or one of them. I'm trying to stop the female boss from taking off in the helicopter.

I shoot the mast tethering line, some enemies come out, I kill all them and then shoot the other tethering line through the bars of the rooftop door, but nothing happens.... she take off and I lose.

What I'm I doing wrong?

You're doing nothing wrong, after you've cleared those two lines you should fire your gun at the base of the mast and presto - you're done!

Christ, are these people stupid or what? I suppose you think skyscrapers are built without foundations, huh? That they're just plonked on the ground and that if the wind's strong enough they'll just fall over, huh? THE FRIGGIN' MAST'S FIXED TO THE ROOF!!! IT'S NOT GOING TO FALL DOWN ON IT'S OWN!!!

How come everyone (or at least all those that have mentioned how they get the last tether) shoot through the door? I always cap the first one, turn around, blow up the guys who run out, then snipe the far away tether from the little claw that the first was attached to. Also gives perfect shot

That's the way a lot of ppl (including me images/icons/smile.gif ) did it, but many of the posts after Max Payne came out got posted to the VE forums. images/icons/smile.gif
