Yo, I'm new to these forums and Max Payne but I just wanna say I think Max Payne is da coolest! First of all, I'm sure this has been posted before but frankly I don't feel like looking. I plan on purchasing Max Payne rather soon and was wondering if its better for PC or PS2. I'm going w/ PC simply due to the higher rating, possibly easier controlling, mods and video cards. Lastly, I think that it should additionally be multiplayer.

Welcome! images/icons/smile.gif

I normally try to be impartial, but - it's definately better on the PC (assuming you've got a decent one). The ps2 version has lacks a lot of the features that the PC version has - from what I understand, you can't even see the bullets in slow motion; not to mention the lack of quicksave, and of course the custom modifications.

As for multiplayer...well,...

I'm sure this has been posted before <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">...that just says it all really. images/icons/tongue.gif

Cathome: I know, I was saying I think there should be.
Maddieman: Thanks for all the help, I'm out to get it!

Well, i can tell you. You can shure as hell see the bulets in bulletime. Trust me. The only thing missing are the quicksaves, the anti-anilseing, reflections from lighting (on the sniper rifle bullet when you shoot) and reflections from guns when there droped or something.

Oh the. The PS2 is wonderful but it still isnt powerful nuf to make PSD329567BD on a Bertea's side.

But with the PS2 what is cool is Bulletime Motin Blure. Turn that on and it makes it look much better. Frame rates arnt perfect but i thik 35-40 fps are very tolerable.

P.S. I played it on X-BOX recently and its better on PS2. It as alot of compleatly useless crap in it. Its the PS2 ver with >>slightly<< better graphix and the same frame rate.

functionxl, if you do get the pc version, bear in mind that some people (myself included) have had loads of technical problems getting it working. Most of them can be fixed with the 1.05 patch, and the rest are usually driver issues - so make sure you update them.

As for motion blur, I'm sure it looks cool; but it disagrees with my whole idea of bullet time. In my opinion, the more time is slowed down, the more clearer the image should appear. Motion blur only really occurs in life when something fast passes you in real-time; the slower it moves, the more time your brain has to interpret the image. But again, I haven't actually played the console versions, so I could have mistaken you again.
