i made this topic in order to know whether max payne 2 will be like mp1, no music except for other parts of a level when you are about to encounter sum baddies just like in the bank vault levels.
ive been wondering tho if remedy is thinking of licensing music of other well known bands and performers, meaning if they get the rights to have other pp's music featured in mp2-i.e. tony hawk 4 and its vast broad types of songs from sex pistols to run dmc. i think that will appeal to everybody if mp2 had music in the game that fits max payne as a whole. hard, edgy, pumping, frenetic, rapid, loud, that sort of sound.
think: link bizkit, linkin park, system of a down, metallica, rage against the machine,
pod, nickelback, puddle of mud, nine inch nails, pearl jam, the list goes on. imagine it tho, all the music you can listen while gunning down enemies with soad singing toxicity.
i know you can do that music thing now with the pc and be able to put the music you want in mp1 while listening to them as you play, but to have that talent of musicians to give max payne a sound and music of its own just like with gta vice city and th4 with that many music to choose to listen to, that will be cool.

Okay if they even think about putting any ONE of those artist in Max Payne 2 I swear to God I'll scream.

It just doesn't belong there.

The music in THPS4 sure as hell didn't "appeal to everybody". There was one good song and that's it. (SOAD - Shimmy).

Max Payne just doesn't feel like licensed music would fit in. Sure, it's supposed to feel like a movie, but not a bad hollywood action flick whose biggest selling point is the soundtrack.

i really liked the music in mp1 where in most parts the music plays just when the action takes place. do you know if mp2 will have ambient type sounds where if you are just walking/running around then it'll play sum kind of normal non action type sound but then you encounter a baddie and then the music will change to action intense type of sound or would it just be same as mp1?

Where was there a lot of "music" in Max Payne 1? Yeah, there was, but not "music", and especially nothing like the bands listed in the first thread of this msg.

It is after all "Max Payne 2", you're not likely to have major paradigm shifts like this in the game design. images/icons/smile.gif

And these threads usually are not about what kind of music folks want to see in a game, they're really "These are the bands I like" threads. images/icons/wink.gif

It would be nice if Remedy seperated the 'music' music and 'ambient' music in the game (rather than both of them being classed as music).

In fact, controls to turn the volume up or down with fsm messages would be useful too. I like the way the music got muted during bullettime, but I'd also like to use it in other areas, rather than it just being specific to that one move.
