I want to know which places in New York have been used for each level of the game ?
I am thinking of a trip to USA this year. So if I happen to go to New York, I intend on seeing some of the places which can be seen.

To reply to the original question. While it is true that members of our team did go our to New York and brought back loads of material for the game no one location has been modelled exactly as it is in the real life. If you are really interested, I could go and check what was the subway station that our guys took pictures from. I think that those pictures remind me a lot of the game's first level. I'll get back to this thread tomorrow (I am not at work at the moment).

Ok, let's see if this works ( I have never put pictures up here before)... Ok, they work but they are a bit too large. Sorry. But anyway, the first three pictures are from the New York subway and quite clearly show the impact these had on the looks of the subway level. Last one is from the Brooklyn dock area buildings and influenced the looks on the docks levels.

wow, Thanks for posting those Mika...
Its fascinating to see how it translates into the game. I can see now how perfect Roscoe St is - its spot on!

Hey Mika,
Thanks a lot for the pictures. The last one was a golden picture with the WTC among the Manhattan skyline seen from the Brooklyn riverfront.
How about the levels which are in a lot of interiors like
1. The hotel (Part 1 Chapter 3)
2. Ragna Rock nightclub (Part 1 Chapter 8)
3. The sanctum (Part 1 Chapter 9)
4. The restaurant (Part 2 Chapter 4)
5. The Punchinello manor (Part 2 Chapter 5)
6. The factory (Part 3 Chapter 1,2,3)
7. The garage (Part 3 Chapter 4)
8. The Asgard building (Part 3 Chapter 5,6)
9. AESIR building (Part 3 Chapter 7,8)
Are there any pictures for these. And by the way which station is in the picture. Can I have the name?
And Mr. Identity FYI, my number says it all. I have been in the forum for nearly a year and I made a conversion of the online walkthrough into a printable one.
Thanks a ton once again,
Ashwin

Who's the guy with the camera in the first pic? Is he another Remedy dev?<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">That would be Samuli Viikinen, one of our level designers.
Ashwin, I'm not sure about all the levels, but at least Ragna Rock, Aesir Tower and Asgard Building were designed by Saku Lehtinen. The Aesir tower was designed from scratch, while Ragna Rock and Asgard were based on existing old buildings. If I remember correctly, the building Asgard is based on is actually in Helsinki, not in New York.

Pretty neat stuff. Anyhoo, damn ashwin, you must be a pretty hardcore MP fan to want to come all the way from India to see those things images/icons/grin.gif (I'm sure you want to see other stuff, but it's pretty cool to keep that sort of thing in mind when you visit)
Anyway, bear in mind that Remedy was escorted to these areas in NYC with an armed ex-NYPD officer, so you probably won't be able to see all of them. images/icons/grin.gif
