wich level is the most difficult level of max payne?
for me it is, until now, the burning restaurant.
I've passed it now but it took me 10 times to do it.
I also wanted to say that someone who payes with cheats is a coward. (only when you cheat if you haven't finished the game)

I found that the 'burning restaurant' very hard, but the level that sticks in my head is when u have just been beaten up and u only have a baseball to protect urself. It took me a while to get past that point as well!

I thought the baseball bat level was the most difficult as well...

Well, it only took me 10hours to get through the game, but yes, the restaurant was the hardes for me, for at first I didnīt find the stupid way, I was running straight through the doors and endet at the metal Rolldoor, didnīt die just watching the beautifull flames infront of me. At last I found the passage, and got killed in the upperfloor. Managed that, the stupid gascan droped me out of life. images/icons/mad.gif
But the dreaming stuff, yeah, hate them too. I play with headphones, and it made me realy pisssed off. Well, the second one was, thank heaven easy. But at the ed against, was it Puchonello, doesnīt matter, up over the nightclub, I thought was a hard fight, but realy good, many enemies. images/icons/grin.gif
Otherwise it was all to easy, the good one is "Just a minute" but well, donīt come far "Yet" . graemlins/hhg.gif
But the one with the baseball, wasnīt so hard, wait at the corner for the one coming around alone and, split his hed take Baretta and run into the Ovenroom back wait beside the door and use baseball, and if you take a better weapon it is the one to use and youīll finish the others one by one. or just make slowmotion jump away fron the door and shoot through the door, they fall like flys.
Happy gameplay, shame that the AI are a bit to stupid.

I dislike the dreaming levels, cause following the bloodline is boring and frustrating.

Also the baseball part is quite hard...

I am at the end of the game and have been disappointed in the challenge. What happened to the auto adjust skill level??

The dreams are very annoying. Bad enough that it lowers my opinion of the game a bit.

The baseball bat part was easy. Just run out the door, and see a guy then run back in. When the guy comes though the door, hit him. Do it until you get a gun, which isn't long.

The burning restaurant took a few retrys, but wasn't that hard. It was just figuring out where to go. I died 5-6 times.

The biggest problem I have is the grenades. You walk along and hear the grenade. Usually you don't have enough time, and either die or take so much damage you might as well have.

It is a great game, but after $50 plus $150 for a new video card. The standards increase a little.

The dreams were cool except for the part with the trail of blood. It was kind of a different thing, and I liked the wall maze in the first dream, and the thing where he says he's stuck in a computer game on the second one.

But the hardest part to me was in the bar where there was like 5 guys and they all had ingrams or sawed-off shotguns; very hard part. Also the part in Part III where there are 3 guys with grenade launchers in the hall and there is no way around them except to very carefully pick off each one of them with the sniper, but avoid getting blown up in the process. It took me awile to figure out how to do that

The three guys on the balcony with the grenade launchers that is until I found one little spot right in the middle of the hall way in the back where they can't see Max because the ceiling beams blocks their vision. I could stand there all day and they didn't shoot.

Standing there I took out the trusty old sniper rifle and shot each one in the happy sack. Beautiful!

The baseball bat level was one of the most difficult parts of the game arguably, and the burning restaurant took me a few times but I got through it without much problems.

SCM988: What happened to auto-difficulty? Well at the beginning of the game one shotgun round to the torso would kill from most medium distances, and at the end a blast to the head at closerange wouldnt kill!!

Maws is that the only thing the game adjusts? Cause I have to admit that I didn't noticed too much of the auto skill adjust. Except for the damage thing you noted.

Personally can't think of anything that was that difficult. That would be my main criticism of the game. It's too easy. I'd rather have had access to a more difficult setting from the beginning.

Yeah but if it was any harder you would probably be complaining about how hard it is.

I'm now playing the second skill level, and it isn't much harder. I'm over half way though it. Just the "main guys" take more hits now. There is also less pain killers. I had 1 main enemy not die from a direct cocktail hit. He was on fire, and lived though it.

If the auto-adjust was just enemys taking more damage then they lied. They claimed this was the first game that had auto-adjust, yet every game gives the later enemys more hits.

The auto-adjust is suppose to make the enemys play better not take more damage.

1 shotgun blast to the head at close range will kill a normal enemy. I used the shotgun 80% of the time on the last part of the game. I got a few 1 shot kills.

I'm replaying the game on the next skill level, and plan to use the shotgun the whole time. Only time I stop is if I don't have a shotgun, out of ammo, or if I'm using a cocktail or grenade.

I'm going to replay the easy skill level next, and do the same thing with the desert eagle.

I thought that the burning restaurant was the hardest. It did take me several save/loads to complete the Baseball bat (thank God for that quickload feature)

Oh, I hated the dreams as well. It especiall sucks when the computer you're using's graphics suck! All the background I saw was white! At least blood, Max, and the characters showed up in color.
