2. Will their be more weapons to chose from?
3. Will there be more chapters than in the first?

1) Don't know - I think so, but I can't remember for sure.
2) & 3) "Area 51" info.

1. Will it be on Xbox?
Id imagine so, isnt the PS2 version already being made? Im sure the other console versions will be taken from that.

what i was wondering to know is if the xbox and ps2 versions of mp2 would have online options on the mp2 game, meaning if we can be able to download content and new gameplay modes and other extras like cheats and codes and other cool stuff?
i dont mean that xbox and ps2 will have multiplayer for mp2 on the consoles but just wondering since ps2 and xbox are gonna be online with broadband like splinter cell had with xbox live so you can download cool things to the game would mp2 have that feature implemented in the ps2 and xbox versions of mp2?
there is another feature id like to have in mp2:
to be able to play the mp1 levels in an enhanced smoother improved sequal in mp2.

to be able to play the mp1 levels in an enhanced smoother improved sequal in mp2.<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Why would you want to do that? images/icons/confused.gif You don't even know yet what the sequel is going to be like. Maybe you don't want to go back to the first game's levels at all.
Besides, I'm quite sure Take-Two wants to continue selling Max Payne 1 still when Max Payne 2 is out. For example, when Vice City came out, it also boosted the sales of GTA III.

i just meant just that in mp2 i was just thinking out loud that in mp2 max should be able to revisit the old levels from mp1 in a newer hi-res improved mp2. its just sum games let you go back to the first beginnings of the first game and then re-do and improve those levels in the first game.
just thinking out loud man. i know mp2 will be awesum.
couple questions:
is mp2 gonna be shown at this years e3 expo?
will the sequal be in dvd format?
will there be "behind the scenes" and docos on the next mp game?
will the levels be longer and non linear or just linear?
do we play as multiple characters like mgs2 with raiden and snake?
will max look any different from mp1, meaning will he be wearing a different look like maybe a blue denim jacket with a flanel shirt and leather pants and cowboy boots?
thats all for now. images/icons/smile.gif

DVD, no, not every PC has a DVD player, there's no set standard for this like on X-Box or PS2.
Behind the scenes, probably not.
Non-linear highly doubtful since it's a game where the story is important.
Characters, nah, probably only good ol Maxy.
Different look, well he'll look nicer I guess, but we don't really know if he had time for a change images/icons/smile.gif

Well, sorry neeek, but pretty much all of your questions are attempting to climb the electrified fences around Area 51.

Make It On Gamecube! You'd Get A lot of sales! I know a huge ammount of people who have gamecubes here in canada, and most of them are waiting for DNF for gamecube also, and we need a good game!!!

Porting games from DirectX to GameCube is generally deemed a... challenge.

Seriously though, isn't GameCube only for kiddygames and fun party games? images/icons/smile.gif (erm, was supposed to be serious)

I don't like stereotypes. So please do not create/enforce them O.K? I've seen couple of non-kiddy-games on gamecube, so its not all only for children console.

Did you find the first installment of Max Payne have a problem with stereotypes?

will mp1 mods be playable in maxpayne2. becose it'd the smae engine with maybe a little face lift.
maybe not whole mods. but how about ldb files?
or animations and character models? will they work without change in maxpayne2?
are you going to release new tools with the game again like with maxpayne1. i read that you allready have a new maxED, as a mapper i would really wan't a new version of the editor.
will it be possible to directly import 3dsmax models/meshes int the new version of maxed, for more detailed objects n stuff?

will it be possible to directly import 3dsmax models/meshes int the new version of maxed, for more detailed objects n stuff? <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">If you're a cunning mapper you can already do that -- make it as a level item or a new character that doesn't move. You should see the sports cars StratonAce is using in Katana 2. images/icons/shocked.gif
Theres nothing wrong with gamecube, quite the contrary the GC has lots of great games for older players - Resident Evil, Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, PN03, Killer 7, Driver 3 and a version of Splinter Cell with exclusive GBA connection to name but a few.
Take 2 obviously felt that the time and money required to make the added adjustments to get MP running well on GC wouldnt be justified by the sales it would get. I'd tend to disagree but thats not my job. I just hope GC is given equal opportunity with MP2. images/icons/cool.gif

i know you can do that, but im looking for a way to convert 3dsmax meshes to maxed meshes, so that they can be given animations (without grouping the level item to a dummy with a animation) and that can have rendered shadows and that blocks characters and bullets

What about system requirements in MP2? Wouldn't be they too high? I'm afraid that I won't be able to run it on my comp.

Will their be an online multiplayer type of thing (Xobox live?) where it would have bullet time on ALL the time for eveyone and then jkust sit there ans shoot have a deathamtch. Or maybe like each person had their own limit for bullet time????
I dunno what I said sounds stupid but you guys can come up with something for multiplayer. something fun. :/

02-25-2003, 12:47 AM
we and everyone else here who played mp1 and wishing for a multiplayer with bullettime will know over and over and even remedy said this many times that it will never happen.
maybe for the xbox version of mp2 hopefully it will have online content, meaning we can be able to download cool features and new missions and levels and modes of gameplay i so hope images/icons/smile.gif
like splinter cell on xbox has that going for xbox live where you can download new missions and other content so you can extend the longevity of the game youre playing. it would make mp2 better replayability if it has new downloadable content available and maybe just maybe have multiplayer WITHOUT bullet or have co-op mode as well. whatever remedy does with mp2 it will be great.

will there be many more graphic novels like mp1?
if you are to have am xbox and ps2 version of mp2 will there be a level editor as in maxed for the pc ?
will it be online enabled to download new mp2 content and new custom made levels and characters?
will there be an extended tutorial in mp2 as well as mini games?
biXen

You can't mod for PS2, there's no harddrive or anything. It's not worth the work for Xbox either (how are you going to mod with that controller, most people don't have a mouse and keyboard for it), let's just see first if they even will let us have the mod tools on PC this time around, they've said nothing about it yet.

Yeah, mini-games just like in Super Monkey Ball. Max Payne Golf! Max Payne Bowling! Max Payne Fight! images/icons/tongue.gif images/icons/grin.gif
I could just picture him inside a big plastic ball being hurled at bowling pins.

This is most likely Area 51 but I wanna ask anyway images/icons/smile.gif
Will you build upon Max Payne or will you use some stuff from Ken_Y to build further on?

Yes, I see.
Well, I hope they include an arsenal of melee weapons then! images/icons/grin.gif

They might, considering the demand and popularity of the kung fu edition; but the reoccurring theme from Remedy is 'Max Payne is about guns and firefights'.
If they don't, then hopefully they'll make the code more flexible for people like Ken and myself to add said features.
Maddieman
03-06-2003, 12:52 AM
Well, you have to understand that Ken hasn't added any new code as such (go with me on this), the way it works is you change what already exists -- what Remedy have left editable -- i.e the code in the animations, weapons and projectiles. He can't, and hasn't changed the source code at all because it simply isn't possible. Most of the new moves, for example, replace the dodging and idle animations.
So to be blunt, they would be better off creating a proper hand to hand combat system in the game. They could use it, or at least pick up some of the ideas that came from workarounds -- eg. wallrunning; but I think if they were going to include a hand to hand combat mode, they'd be better off implementing it as a proper feature.
No stopping them from nicking the animations though. images/icons/tongue.gif

Just curious, how heavy will be the system requirements?

SkavenRMD

Just curious, how heavy will be the system requirements?<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">They will be higher than in the first Max Payne, rather closely matched to the average platfform base at the time of its completion (plus it's of course scalable). Max Payne 2 is not aimed to be a hardcore system hog that would require the very newest hardware to run.

Thanx I hope it will be playable on a geforce II with 256 MB, in India, even a Geforce 3 is rarely taken let alone Geforce 4 which seems to be the common to you guys.
