It's pauly shore isn't it? I knew it. My first guess was that you, Skaven, actually did the voice for Max, than I saw how little you talked in all your replies on these forums and figured the game wouldn't come out for another year or two if you had to do ALL the line.

FYI, the voiceovers in the game are performed by various N.Y. actors.

As a tidbit, I can reveal that some of them have appeared in American TV series. I already revealed one in an earlier post: the mysterious gentleman who says "This must be kept under wraps. If you try to go public with this, we will deny any knowledge." in the E3 2001 trailer, is John Randolph Jones (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Jones,+John+Randolph).

This game isn't supposed to be funny, except for Max's black humour. And I don't care if he can't act, as long as he talks good. The fact was that the voice-acting RULED. I wish I could post the sound file of the intro on my page, it's really cool, but Remedy doesn't allow it for obvious reasons, so sorry guys smilies/images/icons/frown.gif But it's better to hear it when you get the game anyway smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

I don't think that was Rodney Dangerfield.

I think he's funny. Hey! you know what would be cool, if Udo Kier did a voice in the game. Does Udo Kier do a voice?

I think Dangerfield is funny, too.
I tell ya, I don't get any respect.
I went to the doctor the other day, and before he examined me, I asked him if he wanted me to take off my clothes...he said "What do you wanna do, make me sick?"

I certainly hope the same fellow who did Max's voice in MP will return to do it in MPII.
Both Max's appearance and his voice are quite distinctive, and I hope Remedy
will keep them the same as they are in MP. images/icons/smile.gif

I'm looking forward to hearing Max narrate the story with that same familiar voice as it goes along.
It really lent much flavor to the story for Max and the other characters to read the dialog themselves,
not just having words on the screen, but having the characters actually speaking to each other
and arguing back and forth. It really helps to draw one into the story! And it's great having Max speak
out loud what he's thinking about things as this intriguing mystery unfolds around him. images/icons/smile.gif

By the way, it would also be very nice if any of the characters that survived the first game and
that are in MPII would also have the same actors do the voices for them as in MP! images/icons/smile.gif

I'll try to remember what they are...

no way we cant let thist thread die. man its so interesting to know all about those voices behind these characters they all played in max payne, it is cos they really gave the game life and personality of its own.

all these actors n actresses who all voice-acted in max payne were all in law and order, law and order:svu, law and order: criminal intent, third watch, sex and the city, they even made appearances as one of the pedestrians and radio callers in gta3 and gta: vc and even did sum work on anotha gta- type game as a motion capture type person how cools that?

i bet in the next mp game either these ppl from mp1 will come back to do mp2 or there'll have more new actors n actresses from new york who have appeared in law and order and all these other cop show types to be cast in the next max payne game.

How hard is it to look at the credits?

Max Payne -- James McCaffrey

Jim Bravura -- Peter Appel

Well since I can't fire up the games at the moment the only thing I remembered was this: http://us.imdb.com/Name?Siegler,%20Joe

I always loved the intro to Duke 2, hehe, so cheesy. Cool to see the same guy do the voice on the other Duke's though, the St John (sp) guy...

Except for maybe being too goodlooking that guy might make a good max in the movies, after all he's got the voice down.

I just hope to god the same guy who did the voice from the first one is doing it in the second. I can get over one change (Sams not Max) but having both the voice and appearance different will be pretty odd. Im not saying its a reason to hate the game or anything.. but you have to admit it would be wierd as hell.

It says on the IMDB page that the guy who did the voice for Max in MP1 is the same in MP2.

Can this be confirmed by Remedy?

IMDB link: http://us.imdb.com/Name?McCaffrey,+James (choose the first name)

IMDB isn't always the best source of info for things that aren't released yet. I'm not confirming or denying the voice - that's up to Remedy to do. My point is don't trust IMDB for "pre-release" info.
