Maximum confusion?

The last time I heard, Rockstar was developing the sequel, how come now it says Remedy is developing it?!

Confusion............! <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I think it might have something to do with your eyesight. Because as far as I know, no-one's ever mentioned anyone but Remedy as the developer. And no-one's ever mentioned Rockstar/Take2 as doing anything besides publishing it and (possibly) handling the console versions. That is, if you don't count all the confused Rockstar fanboys who barge in here once a week saying "Yay! I hope Rockstar can pull it off again! Remedy who?".

As I understand it, Rockstar (north?) did the voices and sound effects for Max Payne 1.

Erm, didn't Skaven do the sound effects? Rockstar is more involved now probably, since they presumably are using real actors and so on, but it's still Remedy developing like always. For the second and last time hopefully.

My original assumption was based on the audio message from Rockstar (secret area in the garage level; sounds\ingame\misc\Rocstar.wav), where the two producers say thanks, and hope you [Remedy] liked the audio.

From the manual it looks like they just did the voice overs. images/icons/confused.gif

They might have provided some sources too of course, from a library or something, but I'm assuming they mean voice-overs.
