Really stupid question about Max Payne 1

Since the news of The fall of Max Payne. I decided to go back and play the first one again, while doing this I saw all the pictures of chicks on the walls of the hotel level.

My question is did Remedy Lisence these pictures, shoot them theirselves, or draw them. Because they look like real pictures.
