To all of those that always said, "I have an illegal version of Max cause my CD broke," yes, it happend to me, I originally installed it from the CD and the CD broke so I used a no-CD crack and no one beleived that I actually bought Max Payne, but heres the prouf:

How the hell were you able to break the cd like that?

But anyways, a lot of companies offer to replace a broken cd either for free or you have to pay the postage & handling. I'm not sure if 3DRealms/Take2 do that though, but you should ask. You also need some kind of proof of purchase if they offer to replace it (I don't think a photo taken with a digital camera is enough).

my friends BF1942 disk one shattred one day when in use, it somehow got too hot or something. he spend all afternoon getting the sards out of his cd drive.

It must have been an inch
