teh link (http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categories/products/product.asp?pf_id=235848)
As a pre-emptive strike: yes, there is a date, but you know...it's just a date, right? ...so, it might not be THE date...but I guess you can still pre-order...

Well, as the game is still being done, the final release date has not been set. You will learn it here on these forums among the first. When It's Time. images/icons/smile.gif

I think November, but we might get lucky. I somehow just feel that Remedy want to feel less rushed near the release date this time, having it in November wouldn't be that stupid in that case.

when you release mp2 to the whole world, plsssss make sure that there are no bugs and plenty many more modding tools for the game.
p.s. will there be a hacking mode in mp2?
MikaRMD
06-10-2003, 06:42 AM
Not that I am going to answer your question, but what is "a hacking mode"?
Bludd
06-10-2003, 07:45 AM
Oh, Mika. You're so silly. A hacking mode is a game mode where Max runs around with an icepick hacking his enemies to death. Isn't it obvious? images/icons/grin.gif

Man this really puts me in a good mood today. Did you guys noted that Gamestop mentions the following on the features list:
- Professional talent for voice acting and graphic novels
- Motion capture and access to authentic digital source material from NYC help to ensure that Max Payne 2 provides the quality performances that fans have come to expect from Remedy and Rockstar.
- Fierce, yet stylish action sequences and slow-motion gunplay that has become synonymous with Max Payne is back and better than ever.
- New and enhanced moves and options provide breathtaking cinematic game play.
*aavenr passes out of the excitement*

I hope we get a little bit more freedom with the coding modding wise...with MP1 we couldn't bind any new keys and attach events to them.
I just wish you'll release same kind of tools with MP2 like you released with MP1. (MaxEd 2.0?,ParticleFX,Plug-ins for 3ds max)

"Oh, Mika. You're so silly. A hacking mode is a game mode where Max runs around with an icepick hacking his enemies to death. Isn't it obvious? "
nooo lol its a mode from enter the matrix where you can unlock and hack stuff from the game and open up new things such as images of the weapons, fmv's from the game and watch them at any order, lil bits of behind the scenes of making enter the matrix, listen to the audio game tracks, unlock cheats and multiplayer and so on.
well it made sense to add hacking in enter the matrix cos most of the movie and game was about getting into the matrix and hack around and then return from the matrix world to the normal world.
if not a hacking mode in mp2 then maybe you could add sum sub mission objectives that you could do in order to unlock and made available to view in the extras mode in the menu of the game.
it could work so by doing a task in the levels such as find the video in the levels and then after aquiring the tape it can give you the chance view trailers, commentaries, cutscenes, graphic novels, making of mp2, interviews in the extras mode in the menu from the developers with subtitles on the bottom when they speak, assuming they talk lil or no english.
or in the levels you have to find a cd and having done so it can let you listen to the game tracks, intro tracks, voice acting, death screams, all of max's one-liners and comments, enemies comments and dialogue,
graphic novel narrating, sound bloopers from voice actors who stuffed up their lines, sound fx, and other background noises in the extras mode.
or again in sum levels you have to find either magazines, books or lost painting portraits to be able to view in the extras mode images such as concept art of characters, levels, weapons, scenery set up for cutscenes, graphic novel artwork, vehicles, objects, textures, loading screens, menu screens, posters and other portrait photoscanned onto walls in the levels.
if not hacking, then at least sumthing like this that can be fun and rewarding after playing the game

role playing game to me is that sort of game where you have to find tons of items and fulfill quests.

how is finding items to unlock cool stuff in mp2 make it an rpg game anyway? sum games let you find stuff to unlock cool things just for the fun of it. to me, rpg's mean final fantasy, phantasy star, diablo, morrowwind or whateva games they are.
anyway, i just want mp2 to have everything, better, complete, perfect, the best, you know what i mean? mp2 might as well delay the game for next year so that everything will be put together, bugs ironed out, making sure the game is running on all types of pc's and maybe develop mp2 on all consoles while making it on pc's simitainaously.

Neeek, I just want to first point out to you that there is a quote button, you don't need to put marks around it, and also, Max Payne was perfectly fine without having tons of space taken up to let you get extra stuff. The secret room was enough for me.
EDIT: Accidently put but instead of put
