Heres the situation:
The game starts fine, installed fine and everything
When I start to move Max Payne
My controls lock up after about 5 seconds of normal movement
and he runs into walls jumps needlessly, etc etc. Its like it lags heavily because i press the jump button and 10 seconds later it happens.
I have a geforce 4 ti 4200, a fast computer (1.6ghz), Windows XP, and even when I set it on the lowest settings, this happens.
When I press ESC to return to the main menu, it takes me there in 10 seconds too.
Then If i resume, It will work for about a nother 3 seconds before it freezes up
frustrating, no? http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif

I also have this problem. Its really agrivating me and sorta downing my over-all enjoyment of the game.
I also have a good computer. 2.0ghz, 256ram, ti4400 128mb card. I tried messing around with all the specs but nothing seemed to work!
Please, this is a really great game here and I just want to play normally. Right now its so bad I can't go any further http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/brickwall.gif
edit : I'd also like to add that my video card drivers are up to date, and I've already tried reinstalling the game. Twice.

I have this problem too sometimes, but only in Max Payne 1, it's really annoying, but it's gone in MP2 for me http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Guys,
are you sure you have all Accessibility options DISABLED?
This progress is described in DETAIL in the Readme.
Having for example Windows Stickykeys on may cause this.

I have all Accessibility options disabled. But it doesn't solve the problem.

Have you guys messed around with the priority settings? I tried to up mine to high and observed the same behaviour. I have similar sys specs:
P4 2GHz
Ti 4400
1 GB rambus

That's it! Thx http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I have ran the game then alt-tab and launched the task manager and set the priority of "MaxPayne2.exe" to lower than normal (originally it was normal), return to the game and the problem have gone.
But I have to do this every time I run the game... so is this possible to patch the game or do a trick to make it run originally at a lower priority?
