will it?
They couldn't get Max Payne on gamecube, somehow I doubt they'll even try getting Max Payne 2 on there.

This is a definite "no way in hell".

Don't bet on it.

I think it was much harder to port it to PS2 than it would have been to port to GCN (because of PS2's inferior hardware), but PS2 would have been an obvious choice even if they'd had to summon the gods Ninti and Ishkur and sacrifice their firstborn sons to get it to work on PS2 because of the larger user base.

I thought the PS2 had only 32mb system ram and thee GCN had something like 43mb. Anyway will Max 2 be on PS2?

yeah
The GC's memory is split into 24 MB of IT SRAM which is faster then the PS2's 32MB and an additional 16MB of RAM set aside for stuff usual sound altho you can use it for things normally handled by the main ram if you want.
I think the main stumbling block for Remedy is converting MP2 from Direct X to the GC's Open GL system which is more difficult.
Pity as I prefer the GC's controller to Sony's abomination for 3d games.
Maybe Rockstar could outsource it to someone else more familiar with the GC, like Konami giving Metal Gear Solid to Silicon Knights?
